The Oceanic Edit – GC Hitched

2018 saw us launch our sister platform GC Hitched – a modern wedding planning guide and inspiration hub for beautifully bespoke Gold Coast celebrations. After watching our local wedding industry evolve and flourish at an unparalleled rate, we felt the time was right for a new kind of wedding planning resource aligned with couples who value creativity, authenticity and meaningful connections.

Since our launch, we’ve proudly cultivated a community of seriously creative and uber-passionate vendors who live and breathe what they do. Our Oceanic Edit was the perfect opportunity to showcase not only the natural beauty of our coastline, but the incredible talent of our handpicked industry professionals.

Inspired by rugged coastal landscapes, earthy textures and wildly romantic bohemian styling, an alliance of vendors came together to make magic at Miami Beach – and we’re still completely awestruck by how our vision was brought to life! We wanted to create a more modern version of a typical beach wedding using subtle seaside accents, organic styling and beautifully layered details. Working with a natural palette of creamy beige tones, terracotta, mustard and duck egg blue, this dreamy collaboration encapsulated everything we love about our free-spirited coastal location.

Surrounded by rocky headlands, crashing waves and moody grey skies, a sweeping sailcloth Sperry Tent created the perfect base for our oceanside setting, framed by a dramatic installation of oversized palms and dried foliage. Rustic wooden tables and oak cross back chairs were contrasted against luxe smoked glassware, French linen napkins, crisp white orchids and textural blooms for a sophisticated yet effortless feel. Scattered candlesticks and delicate pieces of coral completed our coastal tablescape, along with a minimalist white cake designed with the sweetest seashell accents.

Outside the tent, we created relaxed breakout areas for our free-spirited lovers – our bride oozing bohemian elegance with a fringed Grace Loves Lace gown and the most incredible bouquet brimming with lush pastel blooms, wildflowers and trailing silks (created by our genius friends at Wilderness Flowers). An intimate beachside picnic was set against rugged whitewashed cliffs using a mix of patterned textiles, ornate vessels and fluffy pampas grass, while a cosy sofa setting was styled by the ocean with modular cane lounges and vintage striped umbrellas.
